How do you maintain a power bank?
1️⃣ Charge the power bank regularly
Do not leave the power bank completely empty or completely full for too long. It is best to charge the battery regularly and ideally keep it between 20% and 80%. This prevents wear and tear on the battery cells.
2️⃣ Use a suitable charger
Always use a charger and cable that are suitable for your power bank. Avoid cheap or unknown chargers; they can provide unstable current and damage the power bank.
3️⃣ Store in a dry, cool place
Keep your power bank out of direct sunlight, extreme heat or cold. Too high temperatures (for example in a hot car) can affect the battery capacity or even cause dangerous situations.
4️⃣ Protect against physical damage
Do not drop or knock the power bank. A damaged casing can cause internal damage, such as short circuit or cell leakage.
5️⃣ Use the power bank regularly
If you do not use a power bank for a long time, charge it at least once every 3-6 months. This prevents the battery from deep discharging and irreparable damage.
6️⃣ Avoid overcharging or overloading devices
Most modern power banks have overcharge protection, but it is still wise to disconnect it once it is full.
7️⃣ Check regularly for damage
If you see that your power bank is swollen, discolored or damaged, do not use it anymore. This could be a sign of internal damage.
